Dr. Deanna Ohms
Dr. Ohms is a Board-Certified Family Practice Physician who continues to expand her knowledge base in Integrative and Functional medicine. Prior to her career as a physician, Dr. Ohms studied and worked as an Athletic Trainer and Exercise Physiologist. She worked for several years as a corporate wellness/exercise physiologist, with such organizations as KeyBank, Moen and Ohio University. Throughout her career in traditional medicine, she worked ardently to implement lifestyle and nutritional modification plans to prevent, improve and/or reverse diseases such as Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, Metabolic Syndrome, etc. This, however, was very difficult within a “traditional” practice. At that point, Dr. Ohms decided that her patients’ needs would be best met by expanding her work in the integrative and functional world, and her goal was to spend more time with her patients and improve the Doctor-Patient communication in order to better educate and guide, prevent disease, and manage disease in as holistic way possible.
Dr. Ohms’ areas of expertise are Functional and Integrative Primary Care, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Treating Thyroid CORRECTLY, Autoimmune Disease and Leaky Gut, Adrenal Fatigue and Cortisol Dysfunction and Athletic Nutritional Deficiencies.
